This year, Ok, bye—Iceland Innovation Week’s flagship climate event—is putting an even bigger spotlight on solutions. On May 15, we’ll dive into how innovation and technology can drive real climate action, and leading the conversation is Climeworks, a company turning science into impact.

If you haven’t heard of them (yet), Climeworks has developed groundbreaking technology that removes CO₂ straight from the air and stores it safely underground. Think of it as cleaning up the atmosphere, one breath at a time. The Iceland Innovation Week team paid a visit to their headquarters and got to see Mammoth—the world’s largest carbon removal plant—up close.

Mammoth works like a giant air filter, capturing CO₂ and storing it permanently underground, where it turns into rock. Standing next to it, you really get a sense of how innovation can make climate action tangible. It’s not just an idea—it’s happening, right here in Iceland.

Ok, bye isn’t about just talking—it’s about exploring what’s next. And with Climeworks in the mix, we’ll be looking at how tech, business, and creativity can come together to move the needle on climate action. The challenge is big, but so are the solutions.

See you on May 15.
