Margrét and Eva Margrét are food scientists who deal with everything related to food - no question or idea is so crazy that they can't discuss it with you! Margrét, for example, is passionate about looking at what proteins we will add our diet in the coming years, maybe it will be made from insects or algae? And how can we produce them in an environmentally friendly way but so that they are nutritious and tasty aswell?
Eva Margrét has focused on increasing utilization in vegetable growing in Iceland, i.a. with product development such as developing delicious seasoning mixes from cauliflower and broccoli leaves.
Meat quality research is her favorite project and a matter of her heart - It ain‘t bad knowing how we can improve the quality of the meat we offer friends at the BBQ parties this summer!
We‘ll be located in the greenhouse at the Exeter Hotel and everyone is welcome to come chat with these experts. And while you‘re there you will be able to enjoy a delicious insect snack or a smoothie containing spirulina processed from waste water from a geothermal power plant in Iceland!
