Join us for a captivating event co-organized by the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office, the Federation of Icelandic Industries, and Kerecis. Four great inventors will share their unique stories, revealing the passion, perseverance, and ingenuity that drove their innovations and shed light on the importance of patents in protecting their intellectual property and laying the foundations for business.

Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation

Karl Jónsson Chief Strategy Officer of LUUM.iO and co-founder of Visiolite LLC Jónsson is a lighting industry veteran with over 25 years of experience. He has filed over 70 patents and held senior-level positions at leading companies such as Belkin International, Cisco Systems, GreenWave and Tridonic. He has been a contributor to several industry standards including ZigBee, Thread, Z-Wave, TCLA and the IPSO Alliance.

Sveinbjorn Gizurarson Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Iceland Dr. Gizurarson is the inventor of Nayzilam, an intranasal product to terminate seizures. He has been involved in various areas of intranasal drug and vaccine delivery as well as olfactory delivery of drugs, bypassing the blood-brain-barrier.

Helga Dögg Flosadóttir CEO and co-founder of Atmonia Flosadottir is a scientist, entrepreneur and co-founder of Atmonia which aims to address the climate crisis crisis by developing a sustainable process for ammonia production for fertilizer and fuel.

G. Fertram Sigurjonsson CEO of Kerecis Sigurjonsson is the founder and CEO of Kerecis and inventor of a unique method to use fish skin to heal damaged tissue. In 2023 Kerecis became Iceland’s first Unicorn when it sold to Coloplast for $1.3 Billion.
